Baltimore-based writer Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson is a contributing editor at Architect magazine and the author of the monthly "Letter from Baltimore" column on the Metropolis magazine blog. She is a founding board member of the new nonprofit D:Center Baltimore, an interdisciplinary organization invested in improving and encouraging design — in all its iterations — in the Baltimore area.
